A dental implant procedure involves surgically placing a metal post into the jawbone which acts as a root for a replacement tooth. The implant will eventually fuse with the gum and bone over time. The bone grafting procedure is used to restore lost jawbone by adding artificial grafts or natural grafts taken from the body of the patient. Most often, bone grafting is used to add strength to the jawbone to enhance the success rate of implant surgery.
